How we began
Arnold Greenwood Estate Agency opened our doors for business on the 2nd of February, 1990. At the time, the rules governing solicitors were being relaxed allowing them to own estate agencies as well as legal firms. The Partners at Arnold Greenwood Solicitors quickly identified that merits of linking property selling with the legal conveyancing work; was recognised – opening an estate agency would make the process of moving home seamless and quicker. Arnold Greenwood played a leading role within the local Westmorland Law Society in the implementation of changes that were needed to enable this to happen.
Originally seen as an extra and complementary service to offer existing clients of our solicitor’s firm, it soon became a success in its own right with the firm being recognised as one of the leading estate agencies in the local area, and growing accordingly. At the outset we had a small office with three staff and over the years this has grown into a larger operation employing many more, with double fronted offices serving the South Lakes and the Furness Peninsula.
Arnold Greenwood Estate Agency continues to grow based on the same principles as when founded – a quality service at a competitive cost providing a more convenient and simple experience when you are moving home.
